The management of Tactical has had over twenty years experience training, delivering and managing a wide range of warden services, enforcement officers, civil enforcement within the private and public sector, including local authority. From Community safety officers, wardens, neighbourhood wardens, street crime wardens, residential and town centre wardens.
Street wardens are generally a person or persons, who may be accredited and also have additional powers, if an appointed persons powers have been issued.
These wardens patrol the streets or a designated area, in order to have an impact on crime and disorder, anti social behaviour, public and community safety, supporting or aiding the police and other agencies at a community level.
Street wardens do not have Police powers, nor are they the same as police Community Support Officers, unless they have been accredited with additional powers through a police force, local authority, and or an accredited scheme, for private security contractors, or enforcement officers.
Wardens generally are there to give help and support and ensure public safety, create and pass on to the appropriate body, or agency reports of crime or other related issues, calling the emergency services if appropriate to do so, meaning their calls for assistance can be dealt with sooner.
Some areas local authorities and other bodies have empowered Street wardens or similar, to issue on the spot fines for littering, dog fouling and any other breaches as stipulated. Some wardens or officers, also have the power to confiscate alcohol from youths etc.
The purpose of our wardens, officers depends of their role or activity in a given area or situation. However their generic standard purpose is to provide a reassuring uniformed high visibility presence, promote good community safety, tackle anti-social behaviour and improve the street environment, during the day or night time economy.
Duties of our Street Patrols, Wardens, and Officers are:
• Street patrols on the streets, residential or public open spaces, or industrial estates to provide a highly visible presence.
• Show or give a verbal and visible reassure to, members of the public, local residents or businesses, and make them feel safe giving help and assistance to anyone who is in need of help.
• Having an impact of anti social behaviour and crime, reporting on suspicious or criminal behaviour, to the police and other enforcement agencies.
• Investigate environmental or health & safety issues, and in certain circumstances were appointed powers are issued. Deal with offences such as fly tipping, littering, anti social behaviour or traffic violations, were applicable.
• Supporting or working with vulnerable groups, homeless, and being an ambassador of the area.
• Detect-Deter any forms of anti-social behaviour in an open space, or in public places and report to police or other bodies accordingly.
• Report on any issues that can assist the local authorities or other agencies, regarding street crime, environmental concerns, littering, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, broken or damaged buildings, property, street pavements or lighting or other.
• Assist with promoting and developing an all round community spirit and a feel good feeling, fostering a pride in each community, within the area of responsibility of the warden.
• Responsible for reporting to the local authority Dog Warden department on any potential stray dogs, or issues around dogs.
• Detecting and deterring of drug use in the communities, and reporting on or in certain cases, the recovery and dispose of drugs paraphernalia, from public spaces and anywhere in their area of responsibility.
Our Street Patrol Officers-Wardens mainly patrol set beat areas, locations on foot in pairs, teams or in our marked vehicles, occasionally on bikes or other. The wardens will attempt to help, or offer help and assistance to you, if you have or they feel you might need help or have a problem that they might be able to help you with.
Information gathering is one of the main objectives of the warden, in order that the information or evidence can be passed on to correct organisation or department hiring them, to deal with it appropriately or as agreed.
